Honors Core Book Project #1 - Due 10.11.13

Below are the requirements the first Honors Core book project. A hard copy of these guidelines will be provided in class. 

Book Project #1 – Due Date Friday, October 11

Requirements:

-       Read a book of at least 200 pages that is appropriate for your Lexile level.

-       Provide a one-page, double-spaced summary of the book. Please do this in Google Docs and be sure to share it with me. The assignment title will be: Novel Summary

-       Imagine you’re a journalist and are going to interview one of the major characters in your novel.  You might ask them why they behaved the way they did in the novel, you might ask if they have any regrets or if they’d do something differently, or you might ask about how they interact with other characters. Note: If your novel is written in the first person, I encourage you to choose a character that is not the narrator. This will help you to imagine the story from a different perspective. The interview should include:

o   At least one solid paragraph to introduce the character (i.e. name, age, occupation, etc.).

o   A transcribed interview that contains at least five questions. Answers should be substantive and the interview should be a good “bank-and-forth” dialogue. Ask follow-up questions! This portion will likely be at least two typed pages, double-spaced. Please share with me on Google Docs. The assignment title will be: Character Interview.
