Your book describes eight different elements of a
civilization (i.e. organized governments, established religion, job
specialization, social classes, public works, arts and architecture, and a
system of writing). Your book also gives you examples of civilizations, such as
Uruk.
Your task is to design your own civilization. Give your
civilization a name and a present-day location. Then, choose four of the
different elements and write one paragraph for each of the four elements. Each
paragraph should describe examples how this element looks in your particular
civilization.
Finally, draw a thumbnail sketch that depicts some
aspect of each element. Drawing templates have been provided in class.
